Wedding Information & Etiquette
Sample wedding vow:

You are not the air that I breathe,
You are the sweet scent that drifts upon it
You are not the sounds that I hear,
You are the music of my life
You are not the food that I need,
You are the nourishment of my soul
You are not my will to survive,
You are my reason for living
It is with you that I experience
the wonders of the world
It is with you that I triumph
over the challenges in my path
It is your partnership that will lead me
to the fulfillment of my dreams
It is your friendship that guides me
as I grow and learn
It is your patience and wisdom
that calms my restless nature
It is through you that I know my true self
I do not take you for granted,
I cherish you
I do not need you
I choose you
I choose you today in witness
of all the people who love us
I choose you tomorrow
in the privacy of our hearts
I choose you in strength and weakness
I choose you in health and sickness
I choose you in joy and sorrow
I will choose you, over all others, every day
for all the days of my life

Ten Advantages of Digital Wedding Coverage

  • Digital "soft proofing" allows us the ability to be able to take at least three to four times as many photos at your wedding and reception as we could financially afford to take with film, giving you much more variety to choose from.

  • We immediately know what we've captured for you as soon as each photo is taken, allowing immediate retakes if eyes closed, etc.

  • Eliminates the possibility of any film processing errors at the color lab that could ruin your wedding negatives.

  • Eliminates the possibility of having your wedding film lost in transit to or from the color lab for processing.

  • Much faster turnaround time on filling your orders. (We're talking days with digital, not weeks like with film.)

  • No waiting time on seeing your actual wedding photos ...you and your guests can see them on our computer screen at your reception, in the form of a "slide show".

  • Let's your guests see all your wedding photos online within 24 hours of the wedding, if that option is included in your package or added to it.

  • Let's us offer you all your wedding images on photo CD, (as an added purchase on packages not already including the photo CD's)

  • Adds to the festivities and enjoyment of your wedding day as it progresses. (helps to keep the day from "seeming to go by in a blur"....)

  • Shortens the length of time for taking group photos, since each group photo doesn't have to be captured on two different cameras.

A little advice on how to make your wedding more fun!

The one thing that we have come to notice is that brides who really seem to enjoy their weddings the most are the ones that have freed themselves up from all the time-consuming chores...like decorating the altar and reception site, by delegating these duties to others. So many times I've seen brides rushing about trying to do things like this less than an hour before the wedding, when they should have been either relaxing as I did (getting a massage and manicure), getting themselves dressed for their wedding or getting their photos done. They were running around like chickens with their heads cut off...how can you possibly enjoy your wedding day when you've put yourself under such last minute pressure? I'll bet that a lot of these girls turned down offers of help from others for fear that they might be imposing on them. My advice, take up offers to help from anyone sincerely offering it, learn to delegate duties and make your special day really enjoyable and unstressed!

What's the one thing you can do to really make your reception a blast and a success enjoyed by everyone? Make sure you hire a DJ that knows how to get everyone into the festivities of the evening and get them onto the dance floor and keep them there. The best I've seen make sure to work in the "chicken dance", "Hokey Pokey", "YMCA", "the Locomotion...snake dance around the floor", etc., and they do it in a rapid succession. By the time they are through with these, the guests are pumped and ready to party the rest of the night. What great picture opportunities these dances make, too...some of the best photos of the night of people really having fun!

By contrast, hire a lack-luster DJ and a lot of the time the reception never seems to get into gear. It just sort of lays there and dies a slow death. (No great photo opportunities here, either. What a shame!) My advice: Be very selective in hiring your DJ, he will make or break your reception. Really quiz them about how they go about getting the evening into high-gear for the guests.

Photography..... and How To save!
by Rick Rasmussen

Saving money on your wedding photography can help you in your overall budget planning. But remember, that your photographs of your wedding will last a lifetime and you will look at your wedding albums again and again. So my first piece of advise is to first find a professional photographer who's prices fall within your budget. While you can have your Uncle Bob or a friend take photographs for you, remember that a professional is paid to 'get the image.' Professionals have the skill and experience necessary to ensure that you will be happy with the results. After all-you don't want to be mad at Uncle Bob the rest of your life do you? So how do you save money on this part of your wedding.

First of all, choose a photo 'package' or 'plan' that fits your budget. You don't have to buy more than you need right now. You might even ask your relatives to buy their own prints after the wedding. Another way to save is to stretch your budget over time. An example of this might be to order your wedding album after the wedding-not before. Another method is to limit the amount of time that you will be using the photographer. Typically, time is one of the most expensive factors in the cost of a photographer. Plan your wedding day so that you only need a photographer for four rather than six hours.
